One injured in accident at Winter Show truck pull
An accident in the arena of the North Dakota Winter Show resulted in one person being injured, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
At 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, during the truck pull event, a 2004 Dodge pickup driven by Nathan Bell, 19, Gardner, N.D., was pulling a 1994 Peterbilt skid vehicle. Bell’s vehicle struck a large tire in the arena that had been placed as a safety buffer between the arena and the wall separating the arena from the east concourse of the Winter Show building.
The tire and Dodge pickup went through the wall and struck two pedestrians in the east concourse.
A 15-year-old female was transported by Barnes County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital where she was treated and released. A 33-year-old woman refused treatment at the scene.
Units of the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office, Valley City Police Department, Valley City Fire Department and Barnes County Ambulance responded to the accident.
