Nine Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative employees were recognized for their years of service during the cooperative’s annual all-employee meeting, held this month at LaMoure’s Center Field.

“Dakota Valley Electric is a great place to work and the longevity of our careers is evidence of that. Our 41 employees have an average of 19 years of service,” said General Manager Jay Jacobson.

Nationally, wage and salary workers have been with their current employers for an average of 4.6 years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

At the employee meeting, lineman Bryan Gabel, Milnor, celebrated 25 years. Celebrating 20 years of service are meter technician Kirk Redmond, Ellendale; senior billing representative Wendy Boom and accountant Irene Baumann, both Edgeley, and crew foreman Monty Zimmer, Oakes. Dakota Valley Service Corp. Master Plumber Spencer Isaacson and journeyman plumber Richard Feist, both Edgeley, were recognized for 15 years. Master Electrician Mike Ulmer, LaMoure, was recognized for 10 years, and office clerk Nicole Wiederrich, Edgeley, celebrated five years.

Jacobson thanked the employees for their work and dedication.
