SkyWest uploads flight schedule

SkyWest Airlines has uploaded the flight schedule for the Jamestown and Devils Lake Regional airports into its computer system and people will be able to start booking flights online on March 8.

Jamestown Regional Airport Manager Matt Leitner said the upload was completed Thursday. He said getting the schedules for flights between Denver, Jamestown and Devils Lake is another step forward to starting passenger jet flights on June 5.

SkyWest Airlines will be operating 50-passenger jets under the United Express banner. SkyWest offers full codeshare with United Airlines, which means customers will be able to book flights from Jamestown and Devils Lake on United’s website and on third-party travel websites like Travelocity.

SkyWest has also posted job openings for a general manager and a cross-utilized agent at both airports as well.

A cross-utilized agent is someone who works the loading and unloading ramp and also has customer service duties, according to information provided by SkyWest Airlines. Duties for this job include handling luggage, air freight and company mail on and off aircraft, and providing customer service at the ticket counter and other areas of the airport.

The general manager will oversee all SkyWest operations at the airport terminal, including compliance with all safety and security rules and regulations.

Leitner said the SkyWest officials will host an open house for applications sometime in mid-March to conduct interviews.

The Jamestown and Devils Lake Regional airports receive commercial passenger air service through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Essential Air Service program. In exchange for providing commercial passenger air service to airports in the EAS program, the FAA pays the airlines to provide the service.

The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded the EAS bid for the Jamestown and Devils Lake airports to SkyWest on Jan. 30. The airline will receive $6.3 million annually to provide 11 non-stop or one-stop roundtrip flights to Denver International Airport each week.
