The Jamestown Police Department is warning residents of a convicted sex offender who has moved to Jamestown.
Police said David Lynn Meador, 57, is living at Starlite Motel #2. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches, and weighing 155 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
Meador has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee, Office of the Attorney General.
He was convicted of possession of matter portraying sex by minor on Jan. 13, 2003, in Butler County (Kentucky) District Court. His sentence for the conviction is unknown.
Meador was also convicted of four counts of second-degree rape, five counts of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of second-degree sodomy on Oct. 31, 1994, in Warren County (Kentucky) District Court for crimes committed against three young girls from 1990 to 1994. He was sentenced to 10 years for each count of rape, five years for each count of sexual abuse and 10 years for each count of rape. He served his sentences concurrently.
He is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. The notification is intended for public safety and not to increase fear in the community. The information should also not be used to threaten, assault or intimidate Meador. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten Meador or his family, landlord or employer will be turned over for prosecution.
