Felony charges filed in fatal crash near Jamestown
JAMESTOWN, N.D. — A Fargo man now faces felony charges stemming from a July 18 crash near Jamestown that killed a Belcourt teen.
Wilmer Nadeau, 54, was eastbound at 4:25 a.m. on Interstate 94, about 5 miles east of Jamestown, when the 1996 Dodge 3500 he was driving entered the median and rolled, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The Dodge was stolen from a rural home in the Spiritwood area, the patrol said.
Nadeau's 17-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, the patrol said.
Nadeau was initially charged in Stutsman County District Court with misdemeanor DUI. He faces five felony charges, including two counts of criminal conspiracy, two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle and one count of child neglect, and one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
