Fool Bear moved to Oklahoma City facility
BISMARCK — After shuffling around North Dakota county jails, Robert Fool Bear Sr. has been moved to the federal transfer center in Oklahoma City.
Fool Bear, who is appealing his federal conviction on various child sex crimes, was sentenced to 30 years in prison last month. He is eligible for release after serving 25 years.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons lists a release date in May 2043 for the former Cannon Ball district chairman, who is 55.
At his sentencing, his attorney requested he be located as close to North Dakota as possible.
Last month, he was housed at the Burleigh-Morton County Detention Center, McLean County Jail and Stutsman County Correction Center.
