ND woman to plead guilty to lying about stabbing
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- A North Dakota woman accused of lying to investigators about a stabbing on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation says she will plead guilty.
Chantel Monteith, of Grand Forks, is charged in federal court with false statements. Authorities say the 24-year-old Monteith claimed that the victim was stabbed by an unknown assailant during the May 2011 incident, when she knew what happened.
A change of plea hearing has not been scheduled.
