Group to launch campaign against ND marijuana ballot measure
BISMARCK — A group opposing North Dakota's recreational marijuana ballot measure will launch Thursday, Sept. 6.
A media advisory sent by a Greater North Dakota Chamber staffer announced news conferences will be held in Fargo and Bismarck Thursday. It wasn't immediately clear which groups will make up the "coalition of concerned organizations and North Dakotans," dubbed North Dakotans Against Legalization of Recreational Marijuana.
Measure 3 will ask voters whether to amend state law to legalize "non-violent marijuana related activity" for those over 21, except for selling to minors. It wouldn't impose limits on the amount somebody could possess or grow and would create a process for expunging records of those previously convicted of a crime that's legalized by the measure.
