Passenger injured in rollover
A passenger was injured in a rollover at 1:57 p.m. Wednesday two miles southeast of Wimbledon, N.D., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. William Smith, 21, of Valley City, N.D., was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger south on 98th Avenue Southeast near its junction with 19th Street Southeast when he lost control while negotiating a 90-degree curve in the road.
The Ranger entered the ditch and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels facing south.
Smith, who was wearing his seat belt, was uninjured. His passenger, Darian Krueger, 19, of Wimbledon, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Barnes County Ambulance transported Krueger to Jamestown Regional Medical Center, and then Sanford Life Flight transported her to Sanford Hospital, Fargo.
The crash remains under investigation, and could lead to charges being filed against the driver, according to the Highway Patrol.
The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office and Wimbledon Fire Department assisted at the scene.
