Cars damaged in parking lot crash

More than $5,000 in damage happened in a two-car accident Monday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The accident occurred at 12:05 p.m. in a parking lot behind the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the campus of the University of Jamestown.

Rebecca Ukestad, 56, Jamestown, was driving a 2011 Buick vehicle west behind the center.

Henry Omambia, 19, Jamestown, was driving a 2011 BMW car southwest behind the center.

Neither driver saw the other due to a large snow pile in the parking lot, according to the accident report. Ukested slid into the car Omambia was driving.

Ukested and Omambia wore seat belts. The report said Omambia had head and neck pain, but didn’t indicate if he sought treatment.

Damage was estimated at $2,000 for the Buick and $3,000 for the BMW.

No citations were issued.
