Badal to retire in February

Rowe’s retirement celebration today

The community is invited to a special celebration to mark the retirement of Dr. Scott Rowe, a family practice physician at the Essentia Health-Jamestown Clinic. The event is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today in the common area of the Jamestown Regional Medical Center campus, at 2430 20th St. S.W. Cake and refreshments will be served.

By caring for patients in the Jamestown area for nearly 30 years, Rowe said he has formed many lasting relationships.

“It’s been an honor to be trusted by my patients like I have,” he said. “I’d like them to know how much I’ve enjoyed getting to know them and being involved in their lives.”

While it’s difficult to say goodbye to his patients, Rowe said the decision to retire is what’s best for his wife’s health and for his family. His colleagues at the clinic say his presence will be missed.

“Dr. Rowe has always been a leader at the clinic, striving to make sure we give the best care to patients and making sure we are available for them,” said Clinic Manager Laura Hovland. She also noted he was “very instrumental” in the construction of a new clinic that’s part of the JRMC campus.

“It’s exciting to have the wonderful new facility for the community and patients,” Rowe saod.

While efforts are underway to recruit additional primary care physicians to Essentia’s clinic in Jamestown, Rowe said his patients are in good hands with his colleagues, many of whom are nurse practitioners and physician assistants. “We have a very good health care team,” he said.

Rowe said he hopes community members realize how lucky they are to receive such high-quality health care close to home.

“People are fortunate to have the level of commitment that we have from the hospital and clinic staff who take care of them,” he said.

Rowe’s plans after retirement include spending time in Arizona, at his lake home in Minnesota and in Fargo.
