Two-vehicle crash results in damage

A two-vehicle accident resulted in more than $8,000 in damage, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The crash happened at 1:55 p.m. at the intersection of Business Loop West, First Avenue South and 10th Street Southwest.

Katie Vculek, 18, Crete, N.D., was driving a 2010 General Motors vehicle east on Business Loop West approaching the intersection with First Avenue and 10th Street.

Edward Swiontek, 20, Berlin, N.D., was driving a 2005 Chevrolet car in front of the vehicle that Vculek was driving. Swiontek stopped at the yield sign as traffic was turning from First Avenue South on to 10th Street Southwest. Vculek struck the back end of the car that Swiontek was driving.

Vculek and Swiontek wore seat belts. Both reported injuries, but declined medical treatment at the scene.

Damage was estimated at $6,000 for the GM vehicle and $2,000 for the Chevrolet.

Vculek was cited for care required when driving.
