Two injured in Wednesday accident

There were two injuries in a car-vehicle crash Wednesday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The accident happened at 4:01 p.m. at the intersection of First Avenue and Seventh Street Northeast.

Linda Piehl, 55, Jamestown, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet car north on First Avenue, approaching the intersection with Seventh Street.

Dakota Wagner, 16, Jamestown was driving a 2008 General Motors vehicle east on Seventh Avenue, approaching the intersection. Wagner drove into the intersection and struck the car that Piehl was driving.

Wagner and Piehl wore seat belts. Piehl was treated for an injury at the scene by Jamestown Area Ambulance. Wagner was transported by Jamestown Area Ambulance to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injury.

Damage was estimated at $3,000 for the Chevrolet and $4,500 for the General Motors.

Wagner was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.
