April trial set for former UJ student

A trial date has been set for a former University of Jamestown student charged with terrorizing in an incident on the UJ campus in November.

Robert Joe Flores, who is is either 18 or 19, is scheduled to stand trial April 21-22 in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.

Flores is accused of threatening to commit a crime of violence or act of violence dangerous to human life in an incident that occurred Nov. 6. The University of Jamestown campus was locked down while law enforcement officers searched for Flores. He was arrested in downtown Jamestown later that morning.

William Mackenzie has been court appointed to defend Flores who remains free on a $10,000 surety bond. Flores currently resides in Southgate, Calif.

Judge Thomas Merrick is expected to preside over the trial.
