Sex offender living in city

The Jamestown Police Department is notifying residents of a convicted high-risk sex offender living in Jamestown.

Allan Dale Richardson, 64, lives at 2308 Circle Drive, North Dakota State Hospital Transitional Home.

He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 225 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee, Office of the Attorney General.    

Richardson was convicted of gross sexual imposition in 1994 in Cass County District Court in North Dakota. Authorities said Richardson befriended a 14-year-old neighbor girl and began having sexual contact with her in his house while his wife was in the home. He received 10 years.

Richardson was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping in separate cases involving an 8-year-old girl in 1981 in Clay Count District Court in Minnesota and Cass Count District Court, respectively. He received 54 months for the second degree criminal sexual conduct conviction and 15 years for the kidnapping conviction.

He was also convicted of kidnapping a 6-year-old girl in 1975 in Cass County District Court. He received 10 years.

Richardson has been placed on GPS monitoring.

Richardson is not wanted by law enforcement at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. The notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the county, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate Richardson. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten Richardson, his family or landlord will be turned over for prosecution.
