Grass fire burns 12 acres

The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was dispatched to a grass fire at 6:47 p.m. Monday near 86th Avenue Southeast. Rural Fire Chief Rick Woehl said six units and 12 firefighters responded to the call and were on the scene for three hours.

Woehl said the cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire burned around 12 acres. No injuries were reported.

Woehl said this was the sixth grass fire the JRFD had responded to over the last seven days.
