Police investigate break-ins of storage units

The Jamestown Police Department is investigating a series of break-ins Friday night at storage lockers around Jamestown.

Jamestown Police Deprtment Lt. Jim Hunt said Saturday that sometime Friday night there were break-ins of storage lockers at Storage Space Center in the 1700 block of U.S. Highway 281 N., Central Storage, in the 600 block of 2nd Street Northeast and storage units owned by Heinrich Properties in the 300 block of 11th Avenue Southeast.

Hunt said at least 10 units at the three different locations had the padlocks that secured the units cut off with bolt cutters.

"There were other padlocks where the bolt cutters didn't work, a lot of locks with marks on them," he said.

Hunt said items taken varied from tools and small furniture to a brand new washer and dryer set.

The police are seeking information about break-ins. Anyone with information should call 252-2414.
