White Cloud Days
White Cloud Days, the community-wide annual celebration in Jamestown, held several events Saturday under sunny skies and warm temperatures.
The events started with Jamestown Fire Department annual pancake breakfast followed by the Two Rivers Activity Center’s TRAC 5K run, and a parade with around 100 floats and vehicles downtown.
From there the fun went over to McElroy Park where the Jamestown Classic Car Club set up a car show with food and other vendors. Up at Frontier Village and the National Buffalo Museum there were Native American flutist Matt Shannandore, the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers from Winnipeg, Manitoba teaching and performing the traditional Red River Jig.
On Sunday there will be an inter-denominational worship by Pioneer Ministry at the Frontier Village Church at 9:30 a.m., followed by blacksmith and Dutch oven demonstrations all day.
The Jamestown Arts Center will also continue its fifth annual Mini Art Hunt on Sunday with 12 acrylic miniature paintings hidden in Jamestown parks and historic sites. The clues to help find the paintings will be at the Art Center’s booth in McElroy Park and on its Facebook page.
The Stutsman County Memorial Museum will hold a Front Porch Chat at 2 p.m. Sunday.
