Garage fire under investigation

A recent Jamestown garage fire was the subject of a police investigation and is now being reviewed by the Stutsman County state’s attorney, according to Jamestown Police Department.

At 11:55 a.m. Aug. 15 the Jamestown Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 1213 6th Ave. SE. JFD was on the scene at 11:58 a.m. and the fire was out in less than an hour, but Chief Jim Reuther and Lt. Sheldon Mohr remained there for much of the day conducting an investigation.

“The information was turned over to the Jamestown Police Department,” Mohr said.

Police Sgt. Sidney Mann said the case is still pending with the police reports now being reviewed by the state’s attorney’s office. The police department cannot release more information about the case until the review is completed, he said.
