Two injured in LaMoure accident-update

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident near LaMoure early today, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

A 1989 Chevrolet K2500 pickup driven by Skylar Juelke, 32, LaMoure, was traveling southbound on LaMoure County Road 61 about 7 miles north of the city of LaMoure at about 12:29 a.m. The pickup drifted into the west ditch. The vehicle struck a field approach and became airborne before rolling.

Juelke and passenger Hunter Haakenson, 21, Marion, were ejected from the vehicle. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

Juelke was airlifted to a Fargo hospital. Haakenson was transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and later transported by an air ambulance to a Bismarck hospital.

Juelke was cited for DUI.

The accident remains under investigation by the patrol, which was assisted by the LaMoure County Sheriff’s Department and LaMoure Fire and Rescue
