Man gets 7 yrs. for ND bank heist
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A federal judge in Bismarck sentenced a South Dakota man to seven years in prison for his role in a North Dakota bank robbery.
Jurors convicted 20-year-old Colt Schneider, of Rapid City, in August of bank robbery and using a firearm during a crime of violence.
Schneider got one day in prison for the robbery conviction and seven years for the gun crime. He also must pay $4,000 in restitution.
Another man, 29-year-old Johnner Ward Jr., of Abilene, Texas, was sentenced in August to 11 years for his part.
Authorities say the two men wore black ski masks and carrying guns entered American Bank Center in New England in October 2012 and ran away after grabbing money from a bank employee.
