Three injured in Steel crash identified

Three people injured in a rollover accident Friday were identified by the North Dakota State Police Saturday.

The accident occurred at 12:30 a.m. Friday on 41st St. SE, three miles east of Steele, N.D. in Kidder County.

According to the patrol Chad Tarno, 19, Bismarck was driving a 2006 Ford Escape west of 41st Street SE from Dawson, N.D., to Bismarck. He lost control of the vehicle, it went into the south ditch and rolled over.

A passenger, Tyler Bonagofsky, 19, Bismarck, was ejected during the rollover.

Tarno and Bonagofsky were not wear seat belts while a second passenger, James Barnes, 19, Bismarck, did. All three men were injured. Tarno and Bonagofsky were transported by Kidder County Ambulance to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.

The Ford received total damage from the rollover.

Tarno was arrested for driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
