Man killed, woman injured in collision

WATFORD CITY, N.D. -- A man was killed and a woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in McKenzie County.

A woman was driving a pickup north on Highway 23 about 10 a.m. when she turned left onto 38th Street Northwest in front of a semi truck and the semi hit the pickup, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.

The pickup came to rest in a ditch, and the semi rolled to the driver side of the pickup before stopping. Part of the semitrailer obstructed the highway, and the road was closed for three hours.

It was unclear whether the man driving the semi was pronounced dead at the scene or whether he was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the pickup was wearing a seatbelt. Both vehicles were totaled.

The crash is under investigation.
