Tax commissioner extends Monday hours

The North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner will extend office hours until 9 p.m. on Monday, this year’s individual income tax filing deadline.

Taxpayers may stop at the Office of State Tax Commissioner at the North Dakota State Capitol Building on the 16th floor for assistance with and to drop off their individual income taxes. The north door of the building will be open until 9 p.m. on April 18.

Taxpayers may call (701) 328-1247 with any additional questions about their state income tax return.

The individual income tax deadline is on April 18 this year due to Emancipation Day, a federal holiday in Washington, D.C., falling on a Saturday. In turn, April 15 is Emancipation Day observed, and the IRS there will be closed. The North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner will be open normal business hours on April 15.
