First-ever Color Fun Run set here: participants, volunteers wanted
A mix of water, flour and food dye will comprise an array of vibrant colors that will be seen flying through the air in Jamestown on the morning of April 30.
The first ever Color Fun Run is set to start at 10 a.m. April 30 at McElroy Park in Jamestown. All proceeds from the event will go to the Relay For Life organization. The organization helps cancer patients and their families with numerous cancer-related financial detriments, fund cancer research and other cancer-related fundraising.
Those interested can register for the Run online at http://bit.ly/21HUwfL or download the form at http://bit.ly/1SgjhYl. A $30 registration fee includes a Color Fun Run T-shirt and sunglasses for those who register by Monday. If registering after Monday, the fee goes up to $35. Fees can be paid at Wells Fargo Bank, 208 2nd Ave. SW, in Jamestown or mailed with the registration form to Chelsey Francis, co-event coordinator, at the address above.
Sunglasses will be available for $2 on the day of the race, Francis said.
There is no prize for the winner of the Run, and the Run isn’t timed, Francis said.
Francis and Amanda Thrift, co-event coordinators, are looking for volunteers to throw the color mixture into the air during the Run. Those interested can contact Francis at (406) 694-6146.
Currently the Run is set to have four stations where a color mixture will be thrown in the air and one water station. After the Run, there will be a “color fight,” where participants will have the opportunity to color the sky with their own color packets.
