Hazardous weather outlook issued
The National Weather Service in Bismarck issued a hazardous weather outlook at 12:43 p.m. through Sunday evening.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms can be expected, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms will remain non-severe, however, small hail and gusty winds will accompany some storms.
The hazardous weather outlook includes Stutsman, Wells, Foster, Kidder, Logan, LaMoure, McIntosh and Dickey counties. As of 4 p.m. around 1.5 to 2 inches of rain had fallen on Stutsman County, according to NWS Doppler estimates.
The probability for widespread hazardous weather from Monday though Saturday is low, according to NWS, but the forecast does call for more rain and winter weather with falling temperatures and a slight chance of snow overnight Wednesday.
The forecast for Monday calls for rain before 7 a.m. and a 60 percent chance of showers until 2 p.m., according to NWS. Conditions should be cloudy with a high near 44 degrees and winds from the northeast at around 17 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph.
For Jamestown on Monday night there is a 20 percent chance of rain before 4 a.m. with a low around 33 degrees. Winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.
On Tuesday NWS expects a 20 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. with a high near 49 degrees and east winds from 11 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. Overnight Tuesday there is a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 7 p.m., with a low around 34 degrees.
On Wednesday there is a chance of rain or freezing rain before 8 a.m., and it will be followed by a chance of rain and snow mix between 8 and 10 a.m., according to NWS. After 10 am. a high near 48 degrees is expected with a 30 percent chance of precipitation. Overnight Wednesday there is a slight chance of rain before 3 a.m., then a 20 percent chance of rain and snow with a low around 33 degrees.
On Thursday the NWS expects a 10 percent chance of snow before 7 a.m. Skies will be partly sunny with a high near 53 the rest of the day. Overnight Thursday it will be partly cloudy with a low around 35 degrees.
On Friday it should be mostly sunny with a high near 57 degrees and a 20 percent chance of rain overnight with a low around 38 degrees.
There is a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday, and it should be cloudy with a high near 55 degrees, according to NWS.
