Power, water and sewer usage restored after storm moves through Jamestown
Jamestown residents awoke to a fast-moving storm at about 7 a.m. today.
The National Weather Service office in Bismarck reported wind gusts of 71 mph at Jamestown Regional Airport. Numerous downed branches and flooding were reported around Jamestown.
The city utility operations director said residents may resume normal water and sewer usage as power was restored.
Sarah Casey, comunications specialist with Otter Tail Power Co., said there are 1,100 customers in Jamestown without power Thursday morning. The power was restored around 11:15 a.m. Casey had not returned a call for more information when this story was updated.
Casey also said there were some outages in the New Rockford and Sheyenne areas and the power was restored. She said the power in those areas keeps "flickering on and off."
