Minot man charged in 2014 fatal accident
Jason Michael Tolbert, 41, is charged with manslaughter, a Class B felony, driving under the influence and driving under suspension, Class B misdemeanors.
According to court documents, on Nov. 26, 2014, Tolbert was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 281 about 4 miles south of Edgeley when his vehicle struck the back of a semi. Joel Little, also of Minot and a passenger in Tolbert’s vehicle, was killed in the crash.
An arrest warrant for Tolbert was issued on Nov. 14, 2016, and served on Sept. 29. He was transferred to the Stutsman County Correctional Center on Oct. 25.
Tolbert remains in custody on $10,000 bond.
A Class B felony is punishable by 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Class B misdemeanors are punishable by 30 days in jail and a $1,500 fine.
