University of Jamestown's home sports schedule this weekend is dizzying.

The Jimmies plan to host 14 separate events today and Saturday, starting this morning at 11 when the gun fires on the North Star Athletic Association Cross Country Championships at the course at Parkhurst.

Jimmie volleyball, basketballs, hockey and men's wrestling will all be in action later today. On Saturday, subtract cross country and add the Jimmies' Paint Bucket football game vs. Valley City State and the Can-Am women's wrestling duals to the mix.

"It's something you try to avoid, but at the same time you've got to find the games when you can at home," University of Jamestown director of athletics Sean Johnson said. "If you're a Jimmie fan, how can you beat it?"

Harold Newman Arena will be buzzing this evening. The 19th-ranked Jimmie volleyball team hosts Valley City State at 4 p.m., followed by Jimmie men's and women's basketball against Northwestern College (Iowa) of the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

The women's game pits the ninth-ranked Jimmies (2-1) against the 17th-ranked Red Raiders (1-0). It will be the season opener for the Red Raider men, who are ranked fifth in the NAIA.

The Jimmie basketball teams host the Dordt College Defenders (Iowa) back at Newman Arena on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. Both the Defenders and the Red Raiders become conference opponents next season with Jamestown's move to the GPAC.

"To get Northwestern and Dordt to come up and play us at Harold Newman Arena in basketball is big for us," Johnson said. "As far as nonconference games, those are great games to get and that's when they could play. It just happens to coincide with the last home regular-season week of Jimmie volleyball, and hosting hockey and hosting wrestling tournaments. And, it's Paint Bucket weekend."

University of Jamestown added a men's wrestling tournament Saturday—the Jimmie Open—to coincide with the women's Can-Am duals. Both start at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Larson Center.

The Jimmie men's grapplers dual both Midland University and Warner Pacific College today at the Larson beginning at 5 p.m. Jimmie hockey hosts University of Utah tonight at 7 at Wilson Arena.

Saturday starts with the Paint Bucket game at 1 p.m., volleyball plays Mayville State at the Newman at 7, the same time hockey fires up over at the Wilson against Dakota College at Bottineau.

Got it?

"It's a challenge," Johnson said. "But we have great facilities and great people, and we have been planning for this the last couple of weeks.

"We'll be ready."

Also, once Jimmie fans have paid a daily admission fee they will be admitted into the remaining events being hosted that day free of charge.

"The great thing about our situation is that our facilities are so close together and people don't have to go very far," Johnson said. "Once you get stamped you can go back and forth from basketball to hockey, or volleyball to wrestling. It's the right thing to do for our fans."
