Ypsilanti club plans Thanksgiving meal
The Ypsilanti 50+ Club met Oct. 10 for a noon potluck meal. Twelve members were present. The nurse from Central Valley was there to give flu shots, blood pressure checks and foot care.
Harriet Lien presided over the business meeting. Roll call was your favorite part of fall. The secretary’s and the treasurer’s reports were given and accepted. The liability insurance has been paid. Members voted to pay for the six times the lawn was mowed this summer. Members voted to get 100 stamps for Diane Hastings for sending the meeting reminder postcards. The club will also reimburse for past expenses. Harriet and Nels Lien recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Pastor Norm Winkleman celebrated his 85th birthday on Oct. 14.
The next meeting will be Nov. 14 with a Thanksgiving dinner at noon. Tiny Exner will provide the turkey, and Harriet Lien will make the potatoes. The rest of the meal will be a potluck of Thanksgiving favorites.
