Campaign nets 160 drug, alcohol tickets

Law enforcement agencies across the state took part in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign from Dec. 16 to Jan. 31 to deter motorists from driving impaired, according to information from the North Dakota Department of Transportation

There were 732 citations issued due to the additional enforcement patrols made available for the enforcement campaign. Of those citations, 101 were alcohol related including 91 driving under the influence arrests. There were 26 arrests or citations for other alcohol-related violations like minor in consumption or open container. There were also 33 drug-related arrests.

The additional enforcement patrols were paid for by federal grants distributed through the DOT.
