Carol Sue Maessner, 68, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Jamestown, ND passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at her sister, MaryAnn Williams' home in Little Rock, Arkansas after a long battle with cancer. Carol was born on June 18, 1948 in University City, St. Louis, Missouri to Charles M. and Neva (Henderson) Clark. She moved to Jamestown, ND where she graduated from high school. After graduation, she returned to Little Rock, Arkansas where she attended cosmetology school, graduating with her cosmetology license in 1967.She married Eugene Maessner in September, 1990. They lived on a farm near Streeter, ND until moving to Jamestown, ND in 2007. Carol enjoyed crocheting, canning, cooking, baking and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to her weekly get togethers with a group of her friends who were nicknamed the "Ya Yas." She was an animal lover and was known for rescuing many strays throughout the years. Her most recent rescues being a cat she named Jazzy and a dog named Sammy that she loved very much. She had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Temple Baptist church in Jamestown, ND prior to moving to Little Rock, Arkansas in July, 2016 and enjoyed attending their weekly Bible study/Book club meetings.Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Teresa Clark. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Maessner, Jamestown, ND, five children, Bethann Kanwischer of Bismarck, ND, Mike (Billi) Zupan of Jamestown, ND, Travis (Melissa Grosz) Laube of Fargo, ND, Scott (Nikki Ziebart) Laube of Fargo, ND and Heather (Scott) Urban of Owassa,OK, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, MaryAnn (Tony) Williams and Paula Scott, both of Little Rock, Arkansas and several very special nieces, nephews and friends.A service celebrating Carol's life will be held in Jamestown, ND.
