Scott William Summers, 61, of Jefferson, SD, succumbed to lung cancer at home surrounded by family on September 12th, 2017.

A visitation with family present will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Kober Funeral Home of Elk Point, SD with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Kober Funeral Home in Elk Point, SD with Pastor Erik Olson officiating.

Burial will take place at the Civil Bend Cemetery in Jefferson, South Dakota at a later date.

Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Summers, his father, William Summers, and his brother, Kent Olson. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Summers, of 37 years, daughter, Jennifer (Bryan) Kneebone, daughter, Jessie Summers, son, Jacob Summers, son, Scotty Summers, sister, Susan (Keith) Janke, sister, Shannon (Mitch) Olson, sister, Shari Summers, brother, Steven (Jeri) Summers, grandson Adrien Summers, granddaughter, Bryleigh Kneebone, grandson, Benjamin Summers-Williams, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Scott was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.

Scott attended and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1975. After High School, he attended North Dakota State College of Science. He worked as an electrical mechanical motor repair technician. He owned his own business for 20 years and then continued in his field of work for Northwest Electric until he was forced to stop due to his illness.

Scott enjoyed life and lived every day to the fullest. He was a family man, and shared all his hobbies and interests with them, regularly. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, riding and working on motorcycles, archery, taking photos of his family and wildlife, and watching the night sky.
