Gerald Raymond Klose

Born in Jamestown, ND, Jerry (87) was the youngest of 13 children born to August and Katherine Klose (nee Ries); his parents and all of his siblings predeceased him.

Following his service in the Korean conflict (1951-1953), he married Monica Hamkens in 1954 and moved to Southern California. He spent most of his career as a self-employed general contractor. A devoted husband and father, Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, and their nine children (Michael, Diane, Barbara, Catherine, Daniel, Eileen, Christine, Robert, and Richard); as well as 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, innumerable nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church(1345 Turnbull Canyon Road, Hacienda Heights, CA 91745) with viewing and Rosary at 10:30am, and funeral mass at 11:00 am. Donations may by made in Jerry's memory to Catholic Relief Services for hurricane victims, the St. John Vianney building fund, or to the charity of your choice.
