Lawrence Robert Sailer, 84 of Fargo, ND. with all his 7 children at his side went home to the Lord on Palm Sunday, Mar 25th, 2018 to be with his beloved wife, family, friends and all others who have died before him. Our heartfelt appreciation to all those who cared for him at the Fargo Veteran's Hospital, Hospice and Palliative care and of course everyone who prayed for him and our family during this time.

He was born Aug 15th, 1933 to Jack and Lydia (Horning) Sailer in rural Mercer County near Stanton, North Dakota and in 1946 the family moved to Marion, ND. In the fall of 1952 he met, fell in love and married "Elsie" (Elsbeth Hazel Alber) on May 28, 1953 and remained in marriage for nearly 60 years until her untimely passing in Jan 2013.

Lawrence was a decorated and proud veteran who served during the Korean War with the 5th Armored Division as a cannoneer, assigned as the lead tank driver for his brigade from 1953 to 1955 until his return home where he transferred to the US Army reserves to conclude his 8 years of military service.

Lawrence started Towne Barber Shop located on 122 23rd Street South in Fargo and Elsie joined him soon after which they owned and operated together for next 23 years before he eventually permanently retired after 25 years and selling in 2014.

He leaves behind his 7 children: Barbara (Brian) Kunda, Olympia, WA; Diane (Dale) Rosenberg, New Rockford, ND; Kathy Hovland, Fargo, ND; Kevin (Karen) Sailer, Huson, MT; Larry (Danette) Sailer, Clovis, CA; Scott (Carmen) Sailer, Modesto, CA; Jeffrey Sailer, West Fargo, ND.

18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 5 sisters: Laura Anvik, Yvonne Kluever, Mayda Mueller, Margie Schelske and Francis Zimmerman. 3 Brothers: Clifford, Delmar and Marlyn Sailer.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Elsbeth; Parents: Jack and Lydia Sailer; 2 Sisters: Irene and Verna and 5 brothers: Erhardt, Donald, Arnold, Vernon and Armond Sailer.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 28th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, Pastor Bill Boelter, Officiating and he will be laid to rest with his wife, Elsbeth at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. at 1:00 PM Friday, June 29th, 2018.
