The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos this week:
- Bravo to Valley City State University, which set an enrollment record this fall with 1,522, which exceeded the previous record of 1,452 in the fall of 2016. The undergraduate enrollment number is also a new record, at 1,372, compared to 1,369 in 1970. And bravo to the University of Jamestown, which has more students than it has in a decade with a fall enrollment of 1,136; the previous record was 1,185 students in the fall of 2002.
- Bravo to Kulm Public School, which received a $25,000 grant to purchase a K-12 SmartLab. The grant came from America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education Program, sponsored by Monsanta Fund. And bravo to the Kulm area farmers - 23 of them - who nominated the school for the grant.
- Bravo to the Coats for Kids campaign, which helps get winter apparel to those in need in this area. The recent campaign collected about 70 coats along with scarves, mittens and hats. They were distributed this week.
