The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos this week:
*Bravo to the “Stuff the Bus” and other events held to provide school supplies to children in need in this area for the coming school year.
*Bravo to Jamestown Public School District and Kidder County School District receiving Striving Readers grants from the U.S. Department of Education. JPS was awarded $404,125, and Kidder County district was awarded $272,173. The grants support children from newborn through grade 12.
*Bravo to Ryleigh Martin, Annika Tweten and Zereta Gahner, Jamestown teens who gave away free lunches to people starting Aug. 8 and plan to do so through Aug. 22. The teens have been standing near 1200 12th Ave. NE, Temple Baptist Church, giving away a simple lunch simply to do something for others. And bravo to Hugo’s for donating the food and bags for the lunches.
*Bravo to the groundbreaking for the Foxtail Wind Farm on Aug. 9. The wind farm will have 75 turbines with 150 megawatts of generating capacity. Some work will start this fall and then continue next summer, with an expected completion in the fall of 2019. It will be located near Merricourt in Dickey County.
