White pleads guilty to trespass charge
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Former Minnesota basketball forward Royce White has pled guilty in Hennepin County District Court to one count of misdemeanor trespassing and has been ordered to complete 50 hours of community service.
White had been charged with three counts of trespassing stemming from an investigation into a laptop theft from a University of Minnesota dorm. The Star Tribune reports that the case will be dropped from his record if he has no further legal problems in the next year.
Last week, White was granted a release from his scholarship, which ended the prized recruit's ties with the team. He had been suspended last fall after an incident at the Mall of America; he ultimately plead guilty to theft and disorderly conduct.
