Young tabbed weekly runner
University of Jamestown's Matt Young has been named NSAA men's cross country runner of the week.
Young, a junior from Woodland, Wash., was the first NAIA runner to cross the finish line at the Fred Dahnke 6K race, which mostly consisted of runners from NCAA Division II schools.
Young finished ninth overall with a time of 19 minutes, 2 seconds.
Women's soccer receiving votes
The Jimmie women's soccer team just missed being ranked inside the NAIA's top 25.
Released Tuesday, University of Jamestown (4-2-1) received 80 points in the current national coaches' poll, just 16 points behind 25th-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan (1-2-0) with 96 points.
The Jimmies host Dordt College Saturday at noon.
