New Rockford school project approved

U12 Prowl place third at state

The Jamestown U-12 girls Prowl hockey team placed third at the North Dakota U-12 B Silver Division state tournament last weekend.

The Prowl opened with a 2-1 win over Mandan as Hannah Grosgebauer and Kylie Mitchell scored. Madisen Bjone stopped 28 shots in goal.

In the second round, Jamestown defeated Grand Forks 3-0. Ella Roaldson scored two goals, while Mitchel also tallied. Bjone registered the shutout with 25 stops.

In semifinal play, Jamestown fell to Minot, 2-1. Bjone stopped 39 of the 41 shots sent her way. Roaldson netted the Jamestown goal.

Jamestown captured third-place honors with a 4-3 win over Grand Forks. Roaldson and Mitchell each lit the lamp twice in the win. Abby Soulis, Kendra Paiement and Cali Halgrimson were credited with assists.
