12U softball splits opener

The Jamestown 12U softball team split its season opener on Tuesday, winning the nightcap 9-8.

In the win, Rachel Woodley registered nine strikeouts in four innings pitching-wise, while Hailey Fletcher singled home McKenzie Paul with the game-winning run in their final at-bat. Alex Nihill went 1-for-1 with two runs scored.

In the opener, Nihill struck out six batters in three innings, but was saddled with the loss in the 10-4 final. She also scored a run. Lindsey Kiecker, Kylie Rowell and Erin Gee also scored for Jamestown.
