Jamestown 14U improves to 14-0

The Jamestown 14U fast-pitch softball team swept a pair of non-league games at home against Devils Lake on Wednesday, winning the first contest 7-3 and the second 9-7.

Jamestown rallied for six runs on two hits in the fourth inning to take down Devils Lake in the opener. Chole Crabtree, Amber Buskness and Morgan Well each collected hits for the home team.

Megan Scott scored twice in the contest, while Crabtree, Buskness, Joey Kleinsasser, Shania Drenth and Kelsey Goter each scored once.

Jamestown jumped out to nine runs in the first two inning and held on for the win in the nightcap. Molly Fritz, Crabtree and Hannah Schiele were the only players to collect hits in the game for Jamestown.

Fritz and Sydney Soulis each scored twice while Crabtree, Buskness, Scott, Goter and Schiele touched the plate once.

The 14U team remains undefeated in league play with a 10-0 mark. The team’s overall record stands at 14-0.

The 14U team travels to the state 14U tournament in Grand Forks this Saturday. The first game for Jamestown is against Whapeton at 11 a.m. at the Apollo Complex.
