Vikes add snapper, Easton to IR

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings signed long snapper Jeff Overbaugh on Tuesday to replace injured Kevin McDermott for at least Sunday's regular-season finale against Chicago.

To make room on the roster, Minnesota placed guard Nick Easton on injured reserve. Easton suffered a fractured ankle last Saturday at Green Bay.

McDermott dislocated his left shoulder against the Packers. A source has said the injury won't require surgery and he could be back for the playoffs.

Overbaugh, undrafted out of San Diego State in 2016, went to training camp with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 and had short stints with Denver and Chicago earlier this year.

At San Diego State, Overbaugh was a perfect 409 of 409 on snap attempts during his career. He was named the top specialist at the Senior Bowl following his senior season of 2015.
