Class B Roundup: E-K-M girls top Carrington

Second-ranked Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier defeated sixth-ranked Carrington in Class B girls basketball Tuesday night in Edgeley.

The Rebels (10-0) won 48-43 with Katie Entzie scoring a game-high 21 points. Kaitlyn Schiele followed with 14 for the Rebels. McKenzie Johnson paced the Cardinals with 16 points.

E-K-M girls ranked No. 2

Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier girls basketball (9-0) is ranked second in this week's Class B girls basketball media poll.

The Rebels received five of 17 first-place votes and came up nine points shy of top-ranked Shiloh Christian (8-0), which received 12 first-place votes. Medina-Pingree-Buchanan (7-2) jumped from eighth to fourth after last week's victory over fifth-ranked LaMoure-Litchville-Marion (8-1) at Target Center.

Carrington (7-2) remains at No. 6 after falling to third-ranked Langdon-Edmore-Munich (8-1), and Kidder County (7-3) is receiving votes.

Minot Bishop Ryan (5-0) overtook Stanley (5-0) for the top spot in the Class B boys poll. Stanley received 12 of 16 first-place votes, but came up five points shy of the Lions. Carrington (3-2) is receiving votes.
