Class B Roundup: Cardinals win 12th straight

Carrington boys basketball locked up the No. 1 seed for the upcoming District 5 tournament with a win at Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier Thursday night.

Seth Nelson led the Cardinal offense with 18 points while Garrett Bickett and Kolton Vetter each added 16. Lane Hanson piled up 29 points in the loss for the Rebels.

Girls District 6 tourney

Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter and Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock each picked up wins in the first round of the District 6 girls basketball tournament Thursday night in Hazleton.

Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter (9-11) will face-off against second-ranked Medina-Pingree-Buchanan (17-2) in the first semifinal tonight. The Thunder and the Wolves of Kidder County earned first-round byes by finishing in the top spots of District 6.

The second semifinal will feature Kidder County (14-5) taking on Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock (9-11). Action tips-off in Hazleton at 6 p.m. tonight.
