Jimmies win NAIA national tournament opener

University of Jamestown is moving on at the NAIA Division II women’s basketball tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Jimmies defeated Cardinal Stritch University 65-51 in the tournament’s opening round Wednesday morning, March 7, at the Tyson Events Center. The eighth-ranked Jimmies (30-4) play ninth-ranked Indiana Tech (30-3) in the second round this Friday at 8:30 a.m.

The Indiana Tech Warriors topped 23rd-ranked Bryan (Tenn.) 76-60 in the tournament’s opening game Wednesday morning.
