TRAC hosts 5K walk/run
Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) hosted its second 5K Walk/Run Extravaganza on July 28 in conjunction with White Cloud Days. The event drew over 60 participants with proceeds benefiting the TRAC Scholarship Program, a program that helps provide TRAC memberships to those in need.
Dakota Wagner and Allie Foster were the fastest male and female runners in the 5K, respectively, while 14 year olds Lane Odenbach and MadieLyn Orr were the quickest in the boys' and girls' races.
The Jeremy and Carly Hanson family was awarded "fastest family" honors, being the first family to cross the distance.
Kapaun new UJ golf coach
University of Jamestown hired Nathan Kapaun on Tuesday to coach it's men's and women's golf teams.
A graduate of West Fargo High School, Kapaun was a three-year captain for the Jimmie men's golf team and helped UJ qualify for the NAIA national tournament in both 2015 and 2018. Kapuan was a two-time North Star Athletic Association first team all-conference selection and graduated in May with a degree in business administration.
Amber Backen will be Kapuan's assistant coach. Backen is a former women's golfer for Minnesota State University-Moorhead and Dakota Wesleyan University (S.D.). The NAIA Region 3 medalist helped DWU qualify for nationals.
The Jimmie golf season begins with the UJ Fall Kickoff on Aug. 28 at the Jamestown Country Club.
