Jamestown High School hung with fifth-ranked Bismarck Century for a half on Thursday night.

But the powerful Patriots gained control in the second stanza and pulled away for a 75-49 victory in the Capital City.

Despite falling behind 11-2 early, the Blue Jays boys battled back to make it interesting at halftime. Jamestown trailed just 30-25 at the intermission.

Century's deep bench contributed to its strong second half as 11 Patriots scored in their 15th win in 19 games.

Seven Patriots scored seven points or more with only 6-foot-7 senior Lucas Mayer in double figures with 14 points. Mayer also had eight rebounds and three steals.

Jamestown had 10 players score with John Horgan's 15 points leading all scorers. Dawson Douty added six points and five assists.

Century's girls basketball team got back to winning on Thursday.

The second-ranked Patriots cruised past Jamestown 76-38 in Bismarck after falling in back-to-back West Region contests to Turtle Mountain and Bismarck Legacy. Century's 6-foot-3 freshman forward Lauren Ware led the charge with 18 points.

The Blue Jays were riding a four-game winning streak and found themselves trailing early. Maddie Klein and Lily Keplin nailed first-half 3-pointers, highlighting a 21-7 Patriots' run to start the game.

Jamestown trailed by 20 at the half (37-17) and by as many as 42 in the second half. Keplin finished with 16 points, while second team all-stater Regan Dennis dropped in 15.

Megan Gaffaney made a 3-pointer and scored a team-high 10 points for Jamestown (9-9, 8-8 West Region). The Blue Jays are currently trying to hold on to the sixth position in the West Region standings, which would prevent them from having to compete in a West Region tournament play-in game.

Jamestown wraps up the regular season by hosting Dickinson on Saturday and Mandan on Tuesday. The West Region tournament begins March 2 in Bismarck.
