Jimmies ink five recruits

The Jimmie golf team has signed five players.

North Dakotans Nathan Kapuan of Fargo, Hankinson’s Jimmy Stein and Savanna Nesemeier of Kindred, along with Reagan Ritchey of Brighton, Colo., and Nolan Frank of Sartell, Minn., will continue their careers at the University of Jamestown.

“We are excited to add these fine young men and women to the University of Jamestown family,” said golf coach Dustin Jensen. “On the golf course, they have only scratched the surface of their potential. With the dedication and desire that they have shown during their prep career, we are expecting great things for them as they don the black and orange.”

Frank is a three-time Minnesota Junior PGA champion. He’s also active in basketball and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The son of Randy and Sheila Frank, he plans to study business administration.

Kapuan finished second in the 2013 Junior All-City Tournament. Also active in DECA, Key Club and boys state, he plans to study business administration. He is the son of Jim and Tamera Kapuan.

Stein earned all-district honors twice at Hankinson and placed in numerous meets. She’s also active in speech, newspaper, student government and boys state. The son of Bruce and Debbie Stein, he plans to study accounting.

Nesemeier earned all-region honors at Kindred and earned several other medals in tournaments. She’s also active in FCA, band, jazz band and is the basketball statistician for the girls basketball team. The daughter of Darin and Jodi Nesemeier, she plans to study exercise science.

Ritchey is a two-time EMAC league champion and CHSAA state champion participant. She’s active in showing livestock, leading Bible study and coaching youth volleyball. She is the daughter of Craig and Cate Ritchey and plans to study English.
