UJ athletes win weekly awards

Micki Glass, Aleona Reyes and Garrett Tenney have earned weekly track and field awards from the North Star Athletic Association.

Glass, a senior from Boise, Idaho, was named field athlete of the week after setting personal-bests in the high jump (5.4-25) and javelin (87-0) at the Sioux City Relays.

Reyes, a senior from Belen, N.M., earned track honors after winning and qualifying for nationals in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in Sioux City in a time of 11:.34.94.

Tenney, a senior from Gardnerville, Nev., earned a pair of runner-up finishes in Sioux City, including a national qualifying mark in discus throw of 160-9. He also broke the school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 169-1.
